Dashing through the snow

An overnight snowfall didn’t stop this year’s RunGo Dash for Dogs fun run in Stanley Park.

Nor did it stop almost 100 participants from attending the event, even though the run portion was officially canceled.

As much as six inches of snow fell the night before at Brockton Oval in Stanley Park, the site of the Dash for Dogs. Rather than cancel the event, it was transformed into a Pancakes and Puppies gathering. One of the highlights was the Blindfold Walk with Guide Dogs in training Simba, Corky and Wendy.

This year the RunGo Dash for Dogs, which raises funds for BC Guide Dogs, registered more than 378 people and raised an estimated $20,000.

Many thanks go to Craig Slagel and his amazing team for the long hours they spent organizing and running an amazing event.
