On October 30th, Tsawwassen resident, Ana-Maria, officially ‘graduated’ from BC & Alberta Guide Dogs with her new Guide Dog partner, Lois. The pair completed their training after 50 in-jacket one-on-one training hours with a BC & Alberta Guide Dogs Instructor. Lois the Guide Dog was named after Delta Mayor, Lois Jackson, by the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society who were given the opportunity to name the dog in recognition of their generous and long-standing support of BC & Alberta Guide Dogs. On November 30, 2015, Ana-Maria and Guide Dog, Lois, visited Delta Firehall #1 and met her namesake Mayor Jackson and representatives of the Delta Firefighters Charitable Society.
