Michael joins BC and Alberta Guide Dogs with a well-rounded background in non-profit communications and public relations, including stints with the Lookout Society, Fraserside Community Services and the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.

Prior to that Michael spent 20 years in newspapers, working as a reporter and editor. As a Labrador retriever owner, he appreciates the trainability and loyalty of the breed and understands how well suited it is to being Guide Dog and Autism Support Dog.

Michael is taking over for Ashli Owen for one year. She is currently on maternity leave.
