More than 350 people attended the Puppy Sponsorship Appreciation Parties in Calgary and Delta this month – a record number! The guests were supporters who donate to BC & Alberta Guide Dogs through our Puppy Sponsorship Program, as well as their family and friends.
Several of our puppies from the program were in attendance and made sure to welcome their sponsors with cuddles and wagging tails! Joining the party in Calgary on October 5th were Kona, Rhea, Cache, Spirit, Ferus and Charo; at the party in Delta on October 19th were Willie, Chester, Spoof, Andy, Dougie and Nacho.
Through our Puppy Sponsorship Program, donors contribute monthly and receive regular photos and updates from their puppies until graduation. Sponsorship supports the breeding, raising and training of these life-changing Guide and Service Dogs for individuals who are blind/visually-impaired, children with profound autism, and military and RCMP Veterans living with an Operational Stress Injury.
